LDAP的功能?

颱風天沒事做，又想試試LDAP，在LIUNX上LDAP除了可分享通訊錄，也可分享目錄(有公用目錄的功能)。

啟用了MDAEMON的LDAP，再設定LDAP的選項，到最後按確定要匯入既有帳號，卻匯入錯誤!

再設定OUTLOOK EXPRESS的LDAP，在帳號部份可設定驗證或不驗證，不管是否有設定，似乎都可正常連線至主機，再試著放連絡人到公用目錄，卻發現無法成功。

設定OUTLOOK 的LDAP，在帳號部份也可設定驗證或不驗證，但是設定驗證，會有錯誤產生，但是也可正常連線至主機，再試著放連絡人到公用目錄，也發現無法成功。

再回來看MDAEMON的LDAP設定，其中帳號和密碼是內定原設定管理者的帳號及密碼，不知是否要用這個帳號及密碼來連線。


再用WORLDCLIENT連線，就無法找到公用聯絡人目錄，只能看到自己的聯絡人!

不知道這方面有那位先進已測試成功，能給小弟一點提示。

目前能找到的官方說明文件如下

Open Outlook Express

From the Outlook Express menu bar:

Select the Tools menu.
Select Accounts.
Click on the Add button.
Select Directory Service.
In the Internet directory (LDAP) server field enter the domain name or IP address of the machine running LDaemon.
Click the Next button.
If you would like Outlook Express 6 to check the email addresses of your message recipients using LDaemon select the radio button for Yes.
Click the Next button.
Click the Finish button.
Click on the Directory Service tab.
Highlight the entry that you just created and click on Properties.
Click on the Advanced tab.
In the Search base field enter the search base for LDaemon.

這個紅色記號是我比較好奇的地方，它好像要指定一個搜尋點!

而對於這個搜尋點，官方說明如下
Finding the Search base for LDaemon.

To Find the Search Base for LDaemon open MDaemon (If you do not have access to MDaemon please contact your mail administrator for this information).
Select the Setup menu.
Select LDaemon/LDAP from the menu.
Click the Edit LDaemon configuration file button.
Click the OK button on the Program Information dialog that is opened. This will open the slapd.conf file in notepad.
Select the Edit menu.
Select Find from the menu.
In the Find What field enter suffix.
Click on the Find Next button.
This should highlight the suffix key and it should have something like the following after it 'o=Alt-N, c=US'. This is the Search Base for LDaemon.
Close the Slapd.conf file by clicking the x at the top right.

它又要指定一個字串，我當然都照做了，但是還是無法加入自動或手動加入聯絡人。

所以又回到上面的問題：
第一OUTLOOK EXPRESS或OUTLOOK 驗證程序是否要開啟，MDAEMON內沒有可設定的地方，所以個人認為是不要開啟，而且開啟會造成OUTLOOK錯誤。

第二如何加入聯絡人?

問題是如解答頁所說的，沒有驗證功能，所以只能用在區域網路內，不適合用在整體網路。

結論是MDAEMON下的LDAP是個殘障的東西，不像LIUNX下發展那麼完整。
